Your Career Development
At Call 24-7, we don't just look at the person you are now. We see who you can be in a year's time. Two years' time. Longer! Which is why everyone gets to enjoy training and development, no matter how long they've been with us or how many hours they work.

It's all about making sure we keep growing as a business by continually growing our talent, and that's why we take your training and development seriously. We hope you do too.

Here's a glimpse of the sort of schemes and programmes you can look forward to.

Best Welcome
We know how nerve racking it can be settling into a new environment, even if you're usually relaxed and confident meeting people.

That's why your induction is relaxed and informal and is designed to help you find out how we operate, and where you fit in. You'll also get to know the really important stuff, such as where the staff room and toilets are, and meet our Welcome Host, Paul. He is the person who'll help you to settle in and find your way around.

Personal Development Plan
To help you plan your career, these clearly structured training and development pathways are open to all colleagues with success celebrated at each stage.

Call 24-7 Graduate Development Scheme
Call 24-7 introduced an innovative learning delivery mechanism for the 2005 graduate intake. This mechanism gives development self-service to the graduate on the Graduate Development Programme in the form of a Call 24-7 Learning Account (CLA). This has proved to be a great success and are looking forward to the intake of 2006.

Each graduate working within Call 24-7, has a greater responsibility placed on them to take ownership of their career path and as a consequence of this, their training. The introduction of CLAs are part of this process and all graduates recruited on the Graduate scheme are appointed this method of learning.

CLAs have internal resources provided to fund learning requirements. Individuals have the responsibility for determining learning needs with Line Managers and/or Mentor. The CLA runs from the commencement of employment for 18-24 months dependant on the progress for each individual. A graduate recruited in September will not have access to a CLA for their first month while they settle in and undertake any mandatory training. Therefore the CLA commences in October 2006.

Use of the Learning Account
The CLA will be used to work towards any business related developmental activity – this can be a technical development need or a personal development need. Working towards each individual project and course work.

Examples of this may be:

• Attendance on an internal training course
• Subscription to a relevant publication/magazine
• Purchase of personal development pack material
• Mentor and Training headcount

All research and investigation into available courses/programmes/materials etc should be undertaken by the individual graduate to ensure they source a solution that best fits their needs. If any assistance is required, advice should be sought from their mentor.
